Farm visits and estate days in Hampshire

Thanks to different funding opportunities in the Hampshire area we work with all schools, whatever their free school meal situation.  Based at Sparsholt College, near Winchester, The Country Trust Hampshire team offer schools the opportunity to take part in a large Countryside Day for Schools and join other schools visiting a large private estate, or the chance to enjoy a more bespoke visit to a smaller working farm.

As well as offering teacher training (in school or on a farm), Country Trust Hampshire staff are able to provide help and support to a farmer running school visits or can give advice to a farmer who would like to get involved with running farm visits.

As part of Country Trust Hampshire's work we coordinate Countryside Education Competitions for local agricultural show societies across the Hampshire area.  Their combined support enables many local schools to make visits to the working countryside, develop their learning back in the classroom, and then share their experiences and project work at their local show, helping to educate the showgoers with their colourful and insightful displays.

It was a great day and the children learnt so much from hearing and seeing experts talk about and show what they do.

Country Trust Hampshire also coordinates a programme of visit opportunities across the Hampshire area which are specifically designed to be suitable for pupils with additional physical, educational and emotional needs.  The incredibly popular Countryside Adventure Competitions, are year long projects run across Hampshire, Wiltshire and West Berkshire enabling hundreds of pupils to access, enjoy and experience the working countryside.
