Farm-centred, hands-on, memorable learning experiences

The Country Trust supports better life chances for disadvantaged children through hands-on food, farming and countryside experiences.

We work with primary schools with a higher-than-average percentage of children eligible for Free School Meals (EVER6). This is currently 25.9%.

We also support groups of school children with Special Educational Needs or who are not in mainstream education (PRUs) and non-school groups supporting primary age children who are young carers, looked-after children, refugees and asylum seekers. You can view our eligibility criteria here.

Farm Discovery

Coordinator and farmer-led day-visits to local, real working farms for schools and groups.

Food Discovery

Growing and cooking vegetables, visiting local farms, creating a 'farmer's market' and experiencing the joy of sharing a feast.

Countryside Residentials

2-4-night residentials exploring farms, forests, rivers and beaches.

'Out of the Box' farm-inspired activities and resources delivered directly to schools and groups.
