Countryside Discovery Residentials

"This has helped improve performance and relationships back at school and will help them for the rest of their lives."

Deputy Headteacher, Woolmore Primary School, London

We organise countryside residential visits for children from deprived areas of London, Leeds and Bradford.

These visits enable children to experience the countryside in all its wonderful diversity - from working farms to beaches, castles to forests, wildlife reserves to rivers. Every trip is filled with a mix of wild adventures like pony trekking, a boat ride or den building; and simple pleasures like sitting around a camp fire, running through long grass or seeing the night sky in all its glory.

Our residentials are based in Norfolk, Suffolk and Yorkshire.  A typical trip will involve a two, three or four night stay at a youth hostel, activity centre or bunk barn, with all activities arranged by us.

The Country Trust provides a subsidy to eligible schools, to target support at the children most in need.

For schools who fit our criteria and wish to organise a Countryside Discovery Residential trip, please contact Hannah Jones McVey or email us at [email protected]
