Winter salad success!
Year 3 children from Whitehouse Community Primary School, Ipswich harvested a bumper crop of vegetables for their winter salad last week. This included rocket, ruby chard, pea shoots and radish from the growing bed, sown earlier in the term. The children used it in a delicious couscous salad, which they took home for their families to share. Teacher Mr Christopher (pictured), was very pleased with the radishes the class grew, not bad for a November harvest!
Pupils also tasted donated Lavenham Brook English heritage apple juice from one of our lovely host farmers, Lady Getty and voted for their favourite variety. The clear winner was Worcester Pearmain.
