The Casey Review
A year-long study of community cohesion in Britain by the government’s integration tsar, Dame Louise Casey, has just been published.
It makes for interesting but uncomfortable reading in which Dame Casey highlights many aspects of discrimination and disadvantage that is isolating communities in Britain today. She said "I approached this task hoping that by improving integration and the life chances of some of the most disadvantaged and isolated communities, we could also inject some resilience against those who try to divide us with their extremism and hate."
Country Trust activities bring together diverse communities who would otherwise never meet and much of our work is designed to address poverty of experience, raising aspirations and increasing opportunities.
