It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

John and Alice Pawsey of Shimpling Park Farm near Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk regularly host great farm visits for us and recently Reception children from Tudor C of E Primary School, Sudbury had a lovely Christmas themed visit, organised by our Farm Discovery Coordinator, Sarah Davey.

The visit consisted of a farm walk to forage for willow, greenery and decorative items to make some special Christmas wreaths and then once back at the barn, the children enjoyed delicious hot chocolate and homemade oat biscuits (made in school the day before) before getting on with making their wreaths. Some parents had accompanied their children on the visit and it was brilliant to see them working with their children and really enjoying the visit and activities too.

The Class Teacher commented, that when the children returned back to school and proudly carried their wreaths out of class, parents of children from other classes could be heard asking, "where did you buy that from?"...."oh, we made it at Shimpling Park farm today" was the proud reply!

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas! It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas! It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas!
