In 2008, partly due to the merger of the Trust and Hampshire Country Learning in June, The Country Trust helped more than 25,000 children, mostly from deprived areas of towns and cities throughout England and parts of Wales, to learn about food, farming and the management of the countryside.

The Country Trust is now able to offer its services to a wider audience of schools that ever before, with new regional managers in Cornwall, Buckinghamshire and the East Midlands.

New to the revamped Country trust website is Hunter Adair’s Guide to the Countryside, a series of books on all aspects of rural Britain.  Hunter is a countryman through and through, born and brought up on a farm in Ayrshire.
