Cooking sessions using low cost, local ingredients.
Cooking and Eating
In our 18 Yorkshire Food Discovery (YFD) schools key members of staff and two classes are working with Curriculum Kitchen to cook for the day. They are preparing and cooking recipes using local, seasonal food. These sessions develop skills and build confidence in staff and pupils to make their own delicious, nutritious meals. Recipes are taken home and we are also hoping to start sending ingredient bags home too so families can have a go too. YFD schools are also developing pupils' cooking skills through future lessons and clubs.
We will also be offering a cooking CPD with lots of practical advice on how to get your class involved in cooking with some great Yorkshire produce. Keep an eye on the CPD page for more details.
