Countryside Days for Schools
Countryside Days for Schools are generously hosted by farms and estates across the Hampshire area. Each Countryside Day can accommodate 6 groups of between 20-30 pupils, around 180 pupils in total. Each group then undertakes a variety of activities designed to be interactive and to engage children as they learn about food production, how a working farm is run and countryside management.
Typical activities would include exploring the dairy parlour and making cheese, meeting the gamekeeper and handling the pheasant chicks, talking to local wildlife officers about deer management, getting to see farm machinery and learning about arable crops.
